MP Gudrat Hasanguliyev came out for the legalization of casinos in Azerbaijan

Gudrat Hasanguliyev, deputy of Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, came out for the legalization of casinos in the country.

Azerbaijani MP Gudrat Hasanguliyev proposed to legalize casinos in Azerbaijan. According to the politician, gambling — is an additional reason for tourists to visit the country that will be an additional source of replenishment of the State Treasury. In addition, residents of Azerbaijan will no longer spend their money in foreign gambling establishments that also have a positive impact on the country's budget.

In his opinion, the casino should be placed in high-grade hotels in special tourist areas. By this, the possibility of visiting the gambling establishments by disadvantaged population will be limited.

Hasanguliyev’s legislative project is already under consideration by the Parliament of Azerbaijan.

As a reminder, on January 1, 2016 the country introduced the tax on gambling winnings.
