The meeting of the Russian Federation of Basketball (RBF) Commission on prevention of illegal influence on the results of basketball matches ended with the deprivation of 10 judges who were involved in betting on matches.
RBF (Russian Federation of Basketball) held a meeting at which reports of the matches organized under the auspices of the Federation and the data from the betting company LLC “F.O.N.” were examined. The meeting was devoted to the prevention of illegal influence on the results of basketball matches in respect of the following persons: Stepan Akhapkin, Stanislav Valeev, Sergey Domanov, Fedor Diachuk, Vladimir Ivanov, Aleksey Komarov, Aleksandr Kuznetsov, Aleksandr Lavrik, Artem Mamonov, Aleksey Pereverzev, Aleksandra Sereda and Aleksandr Sidorchuk.
As a result, the Commission found that all the judges, except Pereverzev, had accounts at the betting shops and were betting on matches held under the auspices of the RBF. Very often judges were betting on matches in which they participated.
The Commission decided to disqualify 10 judges who had accounts and were actively betting on matches. The list of suspended judges did not include Pereverzev and Valeev.
Andrey Kirilenko, the President of the RBF, said:
I’m sorry that such thing has happened in our Federation of Basketball, we will fight it very hard. At the moment, we are preparing special instructions intended for both, players and all the participants of the competition.
Earlier, the RBF and the betting company “Fonbet” (LLC “F.O.N.”) signed an agreement on the fight against fixed matches.
